Nature Journal

Our Andy Goldsworthy inspired nature adventure today led us in many exciting directions. When returning to our classroom, the children worked in their nature journals that they created earlier in the school year. The children were asked to reflect on their experience outdoors and use their journals as an opportunity to draw what they felt was important to them. We displayed various items from the collection we gathered at each table and some children chose to work on observational drawings while others worked on reflective drawings. This experience helps to develop language skills, vocabulary skills, fine motor skills and creative skills. The children were so proud of their work and especially loved working in the nature journal that each one of them made with their 2nd grade partners earlier in the year!
