The SPCA visited with our PREK class to talk about pet safety and the people who work at the SPCA help animals that do not have homes in the community. Steve and his dog Faith visited and we learned important information about how to pet a dog safely. Faith was such a friendly, gentle dog and all of the children who wanted to pet her were able to practice the techniques that Steve showed us. One of the most important parts of pet safety is to always ask the dog's owner if it is O.K. to pet the dog before touching the animal.
We learned that there are many community helpers who take care of the homeless animals by bathing , playing and feeding the animals who live at the SPCA. The children enjoyed the time with Steve and Faith and especially enjoyed the petting Faith!
