Glimpses OF Our First Day....

Our first day of PreK was fantastic! The children immediately became engaged in exploring their new classroom and were eager to make connections with new and old friends. The children were delighted to see one another and the classroom was filled with the wonderful sounds of children working and playing together. Playing with the playdough in our Art Studio was a popular choice for several of the children this morning. We observed thoughtful actions as children shared their playdough tools and helped one another.
The children enjoyed drawing at our Print Center using the colored pencils. Several children worked in the area throughout the morning and were excited to either display their drawings in the classroom, share their work with the group at meeting time or take their drawing home. So many wonderful, expressive moments this first day of school!
Building and dramatic play in the House area was exciting! Conversations were heard and cooperative work was observed! This clearly did not feel like 'the first day of school ' with this group of children!
We attended our first Lower School assembly. Crissy, Jason and Rich all welcomed the Lower School students and this was a very special way of connecting with the larger community. Rich played the guitar and led a sing along which all of the children enjoyed tremendously.
