Dissecting Flowers

The children's interest in flowers continues to grow and we were excited to have the opportunity to look more closely at the parts of a flower in Science class.  The children were asked to carefully observe the flower and gently take the flower apart, piece by piece.  They were encouraged to view each piece under the microscope so that they could get a closer look at the 'viens' of the flower.  The children looked more intentionally at the leaves, petals, the stigma, the ovary, and the flower stalk.
